Poronui Free Range Hunting Packages

There is a dimension to the hunting experience at Poronui that sets it apart. Extremely private and a spectacularly beautiful 16,000 acres of New Zealand back country wilderness, Poronui is the spiritual home of sika deer and remains a population stronghold. Stay in our rustic-luxe safari camp, savour a wine or beer around the blazing camp-fire and fall asleep to the mesmerising sound of the famous Mohaka River, in this completely tranquil wilderness.

Sika Hunting – Two Day Experience

From 1 March to 15 May each year you can experience the magic of hunting the wily sika or majestic red stag at Poronui. Includes two nights shared accommodation for two people at Poronui safari tent camp, all meals, beer, house wine, and two days of guided hunting. Trophy animals are extra.

Father & Son - Back Country Experience 

Treat your son or daughter to an authentic New Zealand back country experience. Two days of action packed activity, with your own personal guide - eat under the stars and toast marsh-mallows on the camp fire embers, and sleep under canvas at our safari camp! Choose from the array of activities offered at Poronui – small game hunting, deer hunting, fishing, hiking, eco tours, eeling, sporting clays, archery, target shooting, rifle shooting, horse riding. Your personal Poronui guide will provide instruction when required and some tall tales of adventure and challenge! 

Package includes two nights shared accommodation for one adult and one child at our safari tent camp, all meals, soft drinks, beer, house wine, and two days of guided activities.
