Information

At Poronui Hunting we want to make your stay with us as easy and pleasant as possible. In this section of our website you’ll find all the information you need to plan and prepare for your hunting trip.

First, check out the hunting calendar. You need to decide what species you want to hunt during your trip, and if you are from the northern hemisphere, you will find that our southern hemisphere winter (your summer) is the best time for many species, while for others our Fall (your spring) or even Spring (your Fall) will provide the best trophies.

Next, make sure you have the right clothing and equipment for the climate and the hunting terrain in New Zealand. You can bring your own firearms and all the information you need is provided.

Getting to New Zealand is easy and we have worked with many agents.  If you are arriving from Australia, or are a local hunter, we can help you organise access to our properties with advice on internal flights, ferries and driving directions.

Our reservations policy contains important information and should be checked before you make a booking.

Finally, we have included answers to the questions we are most frequently asked. If the information you need isn’t here, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer your questions!

With properties in the North and South Island, Poronui Hunting offers discerning sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts superb deer hunting, world-class trophies, and some of the world’s finest luxury hunting lodges.
